Hospital receptionist wants a patient to be more discreet, gets just what she asked for

A man, Earl, 75, walked into a crowded waiting room and approached the office. The receptionist, a tense lady, said, "Yes sir, why are you seeing the doctor today?"
"There's something wrong with my johnson," he replied. Several people turned their heads to look at him, surprised.
The receptionist, embarrassed by the situation, said, "You shouldn't walk into a crowded waiting room and say things like that."
"Why not? You asked me what was wrong and I told you," Earl said.
The receptionist replied, “Now you have caused unnecessary discomfort in this crowded room. You should have said something is wrong with your ear or something and discussed the problem further with the doctor privately.
The man replied, "You shouldn't ask people questions in a room full of strangers if the answer might embarrass someone." He then left, waited several minutes, then returned.
The receptionist smiled smugly. "Yes?"
"There's something wrong with my ear," Earl said loudly.
The receptionist nodded approvingly, knowing that he had taken her advice. "What's wrong with your ear, sir?" »
"I can't piss on it," he replied.
The waiting room burst into laughter.
